ABSTRACT
Background: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), also known as myalgic encephalomyelitis is a chronic autoimmune disease that can be onset due to excess stress.
Purpose: The aim was to briefly investigate CFS in relation to stress associations and provide a guide for practitioners that will direct their course of action in the event a client presented with this condition.
Results: A nutrition protocol was developed for alternative treatment options.
Conclusion: Based on stress’s effect on the innate immune system, coenzyme Q10, iron, niacin, (vitamin B3) and vitamin C, may serve as foundational starting points for developing CFS nutrition protocols.
